A silk embroidered Chinese export coverlet with a rich midnight blue ground, embroidered overall in ivory silk thread. The central medallion of quatrefoil form, surrounded by stylised rococo foliate designs. The second border with further 18thcentury swags and flowering fruit. The outer border with shell motifs and floral vines.
