19. A Canton Enamel Box
China. 18th century
2 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" - 6.5 cm x 6.5 cm x 4 cm

A finely decorated box of archaic form, with overall
gilt cracked ice design, with various decorated
flower-heads, on a blue ground base, and gilt
copper mounts. The central cartouche depicting an
amorous European pair before stylized western
buildings.
