29 . A GILT COPPER HEAD
Tibet: 18th / 19th century.
10" x 8" (25 x 20cm)

A gilt copper repousse head of Maitreya
whose name means merciful one, wearing a
large ornamental crown. The hardstones
are now missing. The face with serene
expression and eyes looking down.
