Size. Excluding frame 5 1/3" x 8" (13.5cm x 21.5cm)

A Chinese watercolour on pith paper, depicting the
Hongs at Canton. Foreign traders were confined to
these warehouses, each with a narrow coastal strip,
built on Shameen Island, in the Pearl River opposite
Guangzhou (Canton).
